Top musicians agree the best way to develop a style and gain depth in your playing is to learn from the masters.
You have the recordings, and are inspired by them...why not learn them note for note, at your own speed?

For about the same cost as private lessons ($50/hour, quantity discounts available), you can build a library of custom transcriptions-the tunes and solos you want to learn. I will accurately notate melodies, solos, chords, bass lines, lyrics, etc. in any format (standard notation and/or tablature) you desire. Professional typesetting also available.

I specialize in all styles of electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin and bass music as well as other strings, horns etc.
Sorry, I don't transcribe full piano scores, i.e. left hand chordal passages.

1. You send the recording, and tell me what you need transcribed.

2. I quote a price via email. Of course, no charge!

3. You send payment if you agree with the price.

4. I do the transcribing and mail it (optional email available).

See customer testimonials and all details on the Transcription Info page.

When shopping for a transcriber, be sure to check their artistic and professional credentials.

I'm not the only music transcriber-for-hire, but I've been around the longest (The Original Custom Transcription Service since 1981) for a good reason!

Recent customer feedback:
I want to thank you again, and let you know how much this means to me. The songs are complex and technically demanding, as you know, though perhaps not new to you with all of your transcribing. This tremendously speeds up my guitar progress, with my own skill, as well as with my lessons. I am a late bloomer in coming to the guitar, so these are by far the most important to me in terms of saving time. As I'm sure you well know, once you are bitten by the desire to play music, it has to be done.

I will be back again, and pass your name out to my friends who play. You sound like you are in demand with Berklee, playing, etc. You deserve all of it, I'm sure, by seeing the quality of the transcriptions.
And finally, I much appreciate the work with the last one. The blues are what got me turned on to playing again. So that one has added significance.

My best to you John. The transcriptions mean the world to me. Feel free to use this on your webpage if you like.

Sincerely,
John Benda
